Classic rock band Journey announces ‘limited engagement’ Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace

Fans have waited with open arms to see their favorite band return to the stage.

And Journey is set to perform a ‘limited engagement’ residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

The band’s official Twitter page announced the exciting news on Monday morning that the rockers will perform nine shows at The Colosseum in October.

‘Journey is taking over the Las Vegas Strip with a limited engagement inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Oct 9-26. General onsale begins Apr 19 at 10am PT,’ the tweet said.

American Express users will have an early advantage with ticket sales beginning on April 16, with seats beginning at $69, according to People.

Guitarist Neal Schon said in 2018 that the band was taking a break to pursue various solo projects. 

He added that while members of the band were on a break, fans could expect ‘possibly a few dates near the end of the year leading into 2020,’ according to Ultimate Classic Rock

Arnel Pineda has been the lead vocalist for the rock band since 2007, a position that was previously held by Steve Augeri for nearly a decade, and Steve Perry from 1977-1987 before another stint from 1995-1998.

The band is comprised of founding lead guitarist Neal Schon, founding bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan Cain and drummer Steve Smith. 

The nine-show run may be the first performances post remodel as The Colosseum is set to undergo renovations this summer, according to local station News3.

‘Renovations will include a new state-of-the-art sound system, moving light fixtures and a high-definition LED video wall,’ according to the site.
