Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris on Wednesday turned the speculation that she would make a perfect running mate to Joe Biden back around on him and said he’d be a great number two to her.

‘I think that Joe Biden would be a great running mate,’ she said in response to a question from the DailyMail.com.

‘As vice president he’s proven he knows how to do the job. And there are certainly a lot of other candidates that would make for me a very viable and interesting vice president,’ she added after a town hall meeting here.

Harris has slammed speculation from the chattering class that it would take a white male to beat President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

And Politico reported last week that several black lawmakers wanted to see the California senator as Biden’s running mate.

But Harris made it clear to voters in New Hampshire that she is running for the top spot on the Democratic ticket.

‘I fully intend to win this election,’ she said.

She also disagreed with an assertion by Biden that the 1994 crime bill did not lead to a mass incarceration.

‘I have a great deal of respect for Vice President Joe Biden but I disagree with that,’ she said. ‘That 1994 crime bill – it did contribute to mass incarceration in the country.’

‘We had a federal three strikes it funded. It funded the building of more prisons in states,’ added Harris, who served as attorney general of California and was a career prosecutor in San Francisco before she became a senator.

Biden argued at a campaign stop in New Hampshire on Tuesday that 1994’s Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, which was criticized for leading to mass incarceration, particularly of African-Americans, did not do such a thing.

‘Folks, let’s get something straight: 92 out of every 100 prisoners behind bars are in a state prison, not a federal prison,’ he said at a house party in Nashua. ‘This idea that the crime bill created mass incarceration – it did not create mass incarceration.’

And Harris would not agree with Biden’s assertion that Trump is an illegitimate president.

‘I believe he’s incompetent,’ Harris told reporters after the town hall meeting.

Biden greed with a woman on Tuesday who called President Trump an ‘illegitimate president’ and joked she should be his running mate.

The exchange came about at a house party in Nashua, N.H., when the former vice president was taking questions from the crowd of voters.

‘I have a very severe case of what is called Trump derangement syndrome,’ the woman said to cheers and whoops.

‘He is an illegitimate president in my mind,’ she said.

‘Would you be my Vice Presidential candidate?,’ Biden responded to laughter and cheers.

Then he agreed with her charges.

‘Folks look I absolutely agree,’ he said.
