Since the birth of her son Gene in early May, Amy Schumer has been open about her post-pregnancy struggles.

The comedian, 38, shared two sweet photos with her newborn son to Instagram on Saturday to celebrate five weeks since giving birth.

In the post she shares her appreciation for the hospital underwear she can be seen wearing in both snaps.

She welcomed her son Gene Attell Fischer with her husband Chris Fischer on May 5.

In one photo she cuddles the five-week-old on a large grey couch during a nap.

Not afraid of showing too much skin, the actress wears only a stripped long sleeve shirt and the hospital underwear she says are ‘for life.’

The white hospital boy-short style underwear take center stage in the other picture.

Other famous mothers commented on the post she captioned ‘5 weeks. Hospital underwear for life!’ to offer their support and suggestions that rival the hospital underwear.

Youtube star Colleen Ballinger said ‘I was more of a diaper gal myself. but the hospital underwear was glorious too.’

‘Thanks for being so raw and vulnerable about the realities of post partum life,’ plus size model Tess Holiday said. ‘There is so much pressure placed on new moms to “bounce back” & it’s not real life.’

During her pregnancy the Trainwreck star was open about her discomfort and since taking on motherhood has kept the same level of openness with her followers.

Since giving birth she shared a montage of her puking for her Emmy consideration campaign. 

In the video she explained that she threw up so violently during her pregnancy she popped blood vessels in her face. 

The stand-up returned to work, with her first show since giving birth, at New York’s Comedy Cellar two weeks ago.

She commemorated the performance with a photo shared to Instagram from her performance. 

She captioned the shot ‘Pic from tonight… I’m back!’ 

Amy was shamed for going back to work so soon after giving birth. In response to the negative comments she responded ‘I’ve always wanted to be mom-shamed!’ 

In a photo of her using her breast pump the following morning she said ‘Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing stand-up last night!’
