Are Today struggling to book A-list guests? Breakfast show wheels out MAFS stars all week

Is Today struggling to book A-list guests? Nine’s breakfast show wheels out reality rejects all week… as Sunrise invites Hollywood stars Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish into the studio

It’s no secret that the Today show is struggling to attract viewers these days.

And it appears Channel Nine’s breakfast program may also be having problems securing A-list guests.

This week alone, Today and Today Extra have welcomed a string of reality TV rejects, including four Married At First Sight participants and a Love Island star.

On Monday, Michael Brunelli and Martha Kalifatidis appeared on Today Extra to discuss his upcoming charity head shave.

However, most of the chat was dedicated to Martha’s raunchy Instagram snap, with Sonia Kruger asking her who takes the photographs.

On Wednesday, Elizabeth Sobinoff then appeared on the same morning program to discuss a non-existent TV project.

After Today Extra had teased an exclusive segment about Elizabeth’s ‘new reality show’ with Cyrell Paule, things fell apart as soon as she arrived on set.

Looking visibly confused, Elizabeth responded: ‘I don’t know. Erm, yeah, I just heard about it and I have no idea…’

Cyrell then appeared on Today on Thursday alongside her boyfriend Eden Dally, with host Georgie Gardner telling viewers how she ‘found love’ after filming MAFS.

But this wasn’t exactly a ‘scoop’, as the couple have been publicly dating for months and documenting their relationship on social media.

Keep up: But with the couple having been together for months and heavily documenting it on social media, it was not quite the huge scoop that had been teased

In contrast, Channel Seven’s Sunrise welcomed Hollywood A-listers Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish into the studio on Thursday morning.

The actors ran riot during a segment involving live animals while promoting their new movie, The Secret Life of Pets 2.

By contrast, Today’s entertainment guru Richard Wilkins had to settle for a junket interview with Kevin and Tiffany that was recorded ahead of time.

This wasn’t the only recent scoop from Sunrise with getting talent to come to them.

Last month, the Seven show shut down Sydney’s Martin Place when they welcomed YouTube star James Charles into the studio last month.

Thousands of fans flocked to the studio, desperate for a glance at the teen star.
