Death Cab For Cutie announce intimate London Scala show

Death Cab For Cutie have announced details of an intimate London show at Scala. See dates and ticket details below.

While the band are already set to play a huge show at the Royal Festival Hall as part of this year’s Meltdown Festival curated by Robert Smith on 18 June,  they’ll now be playing a tiny sideshow at Scala the next evening – marking their smallest show in the capital for over 15 years.

Tickets will be on sale from 9am on Friday 18 May and available here.

Meanwhile, the band recently started teasing their new album – which is due for release in August. The new LP will be their ninth  studio record and the first major release since 2015’s Kintsugi.

The tease video for the album – due out in August – shares a snippet of mellowed synths while frontman Ben Gibbard sings: “I dreamt we spoke, I dreamt we spoke again”.

Meanwhile, Gibbard was also among those to pay tribute to Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison, who died last week.

“I wish I would have told Scott how much his songs meant to me,” wrote Gibbard, “or how The Midnight Organ Fight was pretty much all I listened to for months while going through an extremely dark patch in my life. Or what a wonderfully funny and engaging person I found him to be.”

He added: “If you do anything today to mourn Scott’s passing, please reach out to someone you love and tell them something you’ve been putting off saying. Life is too damn short and you might miss the opportunity to do so.”
