A woman has revealed how an unflattering underwear snap shocked her into losing seven stone.
Jenna Hurst, 26, from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, saw her weight to balloon to 17st 7lbs thanks to her junk food ‘addiction’.
The 26-year-old loved clothes shopping with her friends and pretended to try size 18 outfits on in the changing rooms – even though she knew they wouldn’t fit.
But after Jenna spotted a beautiful dress online, she vowed to fit into it – and took a picture of herself in her underwear to prompt her into overhauling her diet.

Now, the sales assistant weighs 10st 5lbs and is a slim size 10.
Jenna says: ‘I always pretended that I was a size 18 when shopping with my friends because I was ashamed of my body.
‘I would cry in the changing rooms, miserable with the way I looked.
‘I loved fashion but I knew that nothing would suit my huge frame – let alone actually fit me.

Aged 17, Jenna fell pregnant with her son, Oliver (pictured), now eight, and as she juggled being a single mum, her weight ballooned
‘The picture of me in my underwear made me realise how big I’d gotten, I felt so embarrassed.
‘Now I’ve lost a whopping 7st 2lbs, I can wear anything I want.’
Growing up, Jenna was the biggest of her friends and, aged 13, she wore size 14 clothes.
Most evenings, she gorged on chicken nuggets and potato waffles, as well as bars of chocolate.
Aged 17, Jenna fell pregnant with her son, Oliver, now eight, and as she juggled being a single mum, her weight ballooned.
She says: ‘I fell into bad habits and snacked on half a pack of biscuits and a family-sized bar of chocolate a day.
But after cutting out her takeaway habit Jenna is now 10st 5lbs and is a slim size 10
Jenna says that she is happier than she has ever been and has fallen in love with fashion all over again
‘I loved takeaways and, three times a week, I’d order a large pepperoni pizza with chips and coleslaw.’
In June 2013, Jenna, then 22, weighed a whopping 17st 7lbs and was a size 22 – but she hid her huge frame in baggy t-shirts and leggings.
She says: ‘I was miserable with my size but I couldn’t curb my huge appetite.
‘And I was spending a fortune on junk food.’
Jenna also loved to splash her cash on clothes but shopping soon became her worst nightmare.
She says: ‘Every week I’d go shopping with my friends as we loved fashion. My friends were tiny – either a size 6 or 8 – and next to them, I felt horrendous.
‘So I picked up outfits in a size 18, two sizes too small, knowing they wouldn’t fit me.
Jenna now lives off a diet of vegetables and lean meat
‘Then I’d spend the next 20 minutes sobbing in the changing room before emerging and pretending I didn’t like them.’
Forever returning from shopping trips empty handed, Jenna would spend her evenings comfort eating.
Humiliated by high street shopping, she resorted to buying all her clothes online.
She says: ‘One evening in June 2013, I was browsing online boutique stores when I discovered my dream dress.
‘It was cream and white, and embellished with beads. I fell in love with it.’
But the dress was only sold up to a size 14 – and Jenna realised that she had to make a drastic change.
Grabbing her mobile, she got her mum, Elizabeth, 56, to snap a picture of her standing in her underwear.
Jenna says: ‘Thankfully the image of my belly rolls hanging over the top of my knickers spurred me into action. I was shocked at how big I’d gotten but it was the kick I needed.
‘The next evening, I signed up to the gym and began exercising twice a week.
‘Then I ditched the junk food, instead stocking up on vegetables and meat.’
The weight steadily dropped off Jenna and in the next eight months, she lost 2st 7lbs and was a size 18. And in February 2014, she joined Slimming World.
Two years later in August 2016, Jenna’s 5ft 5in frame weighed 10st 5lbs bringing her total weight loss to a whopping 7st 2lbs.
She says: ‘The first thing I did was buy my dream dress in a size 10 – and slipping it over my toned stomach felt like a dream. I felt like a princess.
‘I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I have fallen in love with fashion all over again.
‘I’m able to do things I never thought possible, such as wearing size 10 bikinis and feeling confident in lingerie.’
