Green Day have announced their new album, ‘Father Of All…’

Here’s everything we know about it so far.

1) It’ll be released February 07, 2020, via Reprise / Warner.

2) You can hear a first song from it, ‘Father Of All…’, right now:

“Rock and roll sometimes has become so tame because people are, a lot of rock acts are always trying to look for the feel-good song of the year or something,” commented frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in an interview with Zane Lowe, on Apple Music’s Beats 1.

“Everything gets really watered down and wimpy, and I think rock music should make you feel bad.”

3) It’s the shortest album they’ve ever made, featuring 10 songs over 26 minutes.

“I realized I hate long songs,” Billie Joe explained. Which is more than fair enough, really.

4) The artwork is all kinds of memorable:

5) It’s a reflection of the state of the world.

“There’s a lot of depression, but with a sense of humor,” the frontman considered. “But also just kind of the way the world works right now where everything is, I think it’s just, we live in just the time of complete and total chaos – or else we’ve always been, but now it’s turned up to Trump. So it’s just trying to reflect what’s going on. And it’s not really writing like political songs, but just writing stuff that, just the shit that you see every day.”

“Remember when we just had two wars going on? It’s like, ‘Yeah.’ Anyways, yeah, we live definitely in the craziest of times right now.”

You can pre-order the album here.

It’s been a big day for Green Day news, as The Hella Mega Tour, featuring them, Fall Out Boy, Weezer and The Interrupters, has also been announced!
