This $12 Power Scrubber Will Make Your Bathroom Look Basically Brand New

Calling fellow clean freaks: have you ever wanted to get rid of that last layer of uck lingering in the grout between the tiles in your kitchen or bathroom?

TBS

Yes? Then this power scrubber is the magic wand you didn’t know you needed — it’s basically an ultra-powerful electric toothbrush with super stiff bristles that can scrub years of built-in gunk out of grout in mere seconds*.

*Well...around 20-30 seconds per six-inch section of grout, anyway.

I know, it sounds a little too good to be true. So before I really believed it, I had to put it to the test in my own bathroom…

…And y’all, I’m obsessed! This thing works small miracles: I cleaned about half of my bathroom’s grout to its original sparkling-clean cream color in 40 minutes, and it took honestly no effort at all.

I literally sat on the floor, dipped the bristles in a Castile soap dilution (2-3 drops of soap + 1/2 cup of water; but you could use almost any cleaner of your choice), then lazily ran the scrubber back and forth over a 6-inch section of grimy, dark-gray grout — and it only took about 30 seconds for that grout to go from dingy to bright.

I started by using the specialty grout brush, which is costs a few extra $$, but then I decided to try it with the default brush and that seemed to work just as well, IMHO!

I mean, can you even get these kind of results with a toothbrush??

Even if you could, would you really want to do ALL the scrubbing that would require? My arms hurt just thinking about it.

And — as if easy, sparkling grout wasn’t enough! — it busted through some serious soap-scum buildup in my bathtub (thanks, fancy soap and slow-draining tub) in less than a minute.

I’m in love with this luxe Bergamot Commodity bar soap ($24 from Sephora) that I foam up on a fluffy loofah thing — it smells so good, but leaves hella residue behind in my tub. My weaker attempts at cleaning the buildup didn’t make a dent, but the power scrubber dealt with it in less than a minute, then I just rinsed it away. (I used a diluted Castile soap solution here, too.)

Honestly, when I first tried the scrubber out, I didn’t see too many uses for it other than for grout. But after owning it for a while, I’ve realized that while I don’t need it every single week, it’s priceless for the occasions I encounter tough gunk that I’d otherwise only conquer with excessive patience and elbow grease.

And I’m not the only one who swears by the magic of the power scrubber! It has over 480 positive reviews on Amazon, from people just as into it as I am.

Promising reviews: “Holy crap I love this thing. It’s freakin’ awesome. Best $13 I ever spent, and my grout is white again. Even around the toilet…where the man I married can’t figure out how to pee. I used this thing as soon as I got it from my mailbox…and wow. I love it. You’re stupid not to buy it. I’m buying another one for my mom. I’d buy you one if I could. Just get it.” —Rebecca

“Amazing. Used it with the Goo Gone Tile Cleaner and I was flabbergasted. I’m ashamed to admit I haven’t cleaned the grout in the bathroom in 11 years. This is before, and after. [Ed note: that’s their actual photo, above!] No effort. No time. Spray, turn the grout power scrubber on, and with no effort on my part, bingo, like new. Next, the kitchen floors!” —Jodi Sh Doff

And of course reviewers have found EVEN MORE uses for it, from hard water stains to bathtub jets.

Promising reviews: “I bought this specifically to clean the jets in my bathtub. I’ve tried numerous other brushes and none of them were able to get in the crevices well enough to clean out all the gunk. Today I sprayed some foaming bleach cleaner in them, let them sit for a few minutes, then used this brush and wow! They are soooo clean! The brush was so easy to use and it did the job very quickly.” —mariposa72

“Great little tool to use around the house. I have these glass blocks in my shower that they get cloudy with hard water deposits. After using the power scrubber with some Bar Keepers Friend, the glass is now nice and clear…no more hard water deposits! Also works great around faucet handles.” —Jen

It cleans hard water stains around faucets, oven crevices, water strainer scum, grout, clogged faucet spigots. My son grabbed mine and cleaned something on the car, it’s his next birthday present. Get both attachments.” —Margaret Beusse

Get the power scrubber with the multipurpose cleaning brush on Amazon for $11.80 or at Target (with both the multipurpose brush + the specialty grout brush) for $19.99.

You can also add on the specialty grout brush on Amazon for $10.38, or a larger, one-inch general cleaning brush for $6.21 — though again, while the grout head does work well on grout (and super narrow corners), I was still able to get great results using just the default multipurpose brush.

Happy cleaning, hope you’re ready for all of your own stunning before and afters!
