Heart racing moment when 'drug traffickers carrying more than TWO TONS of cocaine' are chased down

Footage of Mexico’s navy seizing more than two tons of cocaine off the country’s southern Pacific coast was released on Saturday.

The clip shows a number of alleged drug traffickers traveling by boat being pursued by a military helicopter.

As the one-minute video unfolds, aerial footage shows the traffickers speeding towards the shore after they realize they’ve been spotted by Mexican authorities.

As the boat slides onto the beach, as many as 10 crew members can be seen jumping off the vessel and scatter towards the mainland as the helicopter makes a dramatic landing.

The contents of the boat are then laid out with dozens of large white bags being placed on the sand as military investigators take pictures.

The military said in a statement that the small boat had two powerful outboard motors and was carrying 75 packages weighing about 4,100 pounds.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of one man from Ecuador.

The incident comes as government forces continue to clash with drug cartels in an effort to clamp down on crime.
