How five mums transformed their bums WITHOUT cutting out food groups

Women often turn to restrictive diets, hardcore exercise and unrealistic health programs in a bid to shed unwanted kilos and tone up.

But this doesn’t have to be the case.

Five Australian women recently debuted their incredible new physiques after coming across the The Healthy Mummy – a health community and website that promotes wholesome meals and custom workouts.

So what were the secrets to their success?

Julia Meadows

Having lost 11 kilograms, Ms Meadows was thrilled to look back at her before photo, which was taken in 2017.

I try to squeeze at least 100 squats in a day, even if that means while I am hanging up the washing.

‘I went from being unhappy to enjoying life, from unfit to running a half marathon and from unhealthy to healthy,’the mother-of-two said.

Ms Meadows says her success has stemmed from healthy smoothies each day and doing exercise while doing mundane household activities.

‘I try to squeeze at least 100 squats in a day, even if that means while I am hanging up the washing or waiting for my smoothie to blend,’ she said.

Now, she tries to do three HIIT workouts per week to tone her body and is a regular runner.

Ms Meadows eats healthy versions of her favourite foods like pasta and pizza and always meal preps.

‘I freeze most meals and snacks which helps me a lot to stay on track as I can quickly grab something out of the freezer when the big hunger strikes and I won’t reach for unhealthy foods,’ she said.

‘I also drink around 3 litres of water a day and it has made my skin appear much healthier and smoother.’

Sascha Farley

Ms Farley has lost 30 kilograms since overhauling her health regime.

‘From then to now… nothing crazy in between just food, some Butt and Thigh Challenges and consistency.’

Ms Farley started following a meal plan – which included meals like sweet potato nachos and snacks like bliss balls – and within five months, lost her first 25 kilograms despite doing no exercise.

‘I plan on Friday, shop on Saturday and cook on Sunday,’ Ms Farley told FEMAIL, adding that she will often cook for the week ahead but sometimes cooks more.

‘It’s about knowing exactly what you’re making and what you need to buy so you only need to go to the supermarket once.’

Healthy meals on her meal plan include the likes of sweet potato nachos, honey lemon chicken salad, chocolate coconut slices and zucchini muffins.

Ms Farley has doubled her calorie intake since overhauling her lifestyle and feels better than ever.

‘Knowing I am making the right choices, especially when it comes to ‘treats’ has been the biggest learning curve for me,’ she said.

‘I’ve always got healthy dessert treats ready for my sweet tooth hits. With education comes freedom and this program has given me that.’

To maintain her enviable figure, Ms Farley enjoys three mains and three snacks and has been following a ‘butt and thigh’ program to ‘lift’ her booty which involves simple strength exercises like squats and lunges that she can do at home.

Nikki Myles

Ms Myles, a mother-of-three, has lost a staggering 30 kilograms in 12 months and hasn’t cut out any food groups in the process.

‘I think these photos speak for themselves. 12 months difference between the two photos. This is what you can accomplish when changing to a healthy lifestyle,’ the proud mother said.

Ms Myles, 45, also eats healthy versions of her favourite foods by following the online recipes that appeal and says 1200 per day plans are a ‘myth’.

‘I’m constantly eating, who doesn’t want to do that and lose weight? You’re under this myth that you have to eat 1200 calories a day and you’ve got to starve your body and it’s not like that,’ she said.

For exercise, she keeps it short, sweet and simple and does dance and core workouts in her living room.

‘I walk each day and use the easy to follow exercises in the Challenge,’ she said.

Shantelle van der Leeuw

Ms van der Leeuw has lost a huge 34 kilograms in 17 months and her body fat percentage has plummeted over the past year.

She has gone from 109 kilograms to 75 kilograms and hasn’t looked back once.

For Ms van der Leeuw, before and after photos were key to succeeding.

‘It’s easy to see all your flaws and not appreciate the hard work and dedication you have put in to get to where you are – take photos! They are a true reflection of your dedication and hard work and the best motivator to keep going,’ she said.

Ms Fulford has wowed hundreds with her transformation after losing 22 kilograms in five months.

‘Nothing gets me more excited then getting to tone my butt and eating meals that my kids will enjoy too,’ she said.

At her heaviest she was 82 kilos and was asked by a member of the public if she was pregnant – a statement that kicked off her weight loss and saw her drop to a mere 60 kilos.

Exercise has helped Ms Fulford tone up and sculpt her body as well, with the dedicated mum cycling at home and aiming to do 10km per day

Meal prepping has helped Ms Fulford achieve her goals.

‘I find if I have lunch in the freezer I’m less likely to binge on toast and ‘easy’ to grab foods. Making extra serves at dinner time to freeze for lunches also help,’ she said.
