A doting husband was overcome with emotion when he caught sight of his wife’s incredible head to toe transformation ahead of their 20th wedding anniversary.
Holly Manke, 50, from Richmond, Virginia, was one of two women plucked from the crowd in the Today show plaza for an ambush makeover on Thursday, and it couldn’t have been better timing.
So far this year, Holly has turned 50, watched her son graduate high school, and now she and her husband, Shane, are gearing up to celebrate 20 years of marriage.

‘I want to cut my hair,’ Holly told Today fashion correspondent Jill Martin. ‘I just want to feel better and look better.’
She told her husband that being chosen for an ambush makeover was the only thing she wanted during their trip to New York, and he was thrilled that her wish came true.
‘It’s gonna make her happy, so that’s all I want,’ he explained.
Shane was blindfolded when Holly strut on stage, but he was at a loss for words when he removed his eye mask and saw her new look for the first time.

‘Wow,’ he said.
When Holly turned around to look at herself in the mirror, she was just as shocked.
‘Oh my God, I can’t believe it,’ she said.
Holly’s once long wavy hair was styled in a sleek bob, and celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari explained that fine hair should be ‘cut rather simply to make it appear as thick as possible.’
‘I took away her gray hair, which made a substantial difference,’ he added.

Jill dressed Holly in a chic black top, a white sleeveless vest, and dark jeans. She topped off the look with a statement necklace and heels.

Susan Cooper, 50, from Willows, California, also received a makeover on Thursday’s show, and the grandmother-of-three admitted she hadn’t changed her hairstyle in 15 years.
‘I am excited; I’m nervous. Ugh, I don’t even know what to think,’ she told Jill. ‘I am so surprised.’

Susan was joined by her husband, Mike; her mother, Diana; and her aunt, Debbie, and she couldn’t wait to see their reactions to her new look.
She had a bright smile on her face as she walked on stage in a flattering red dress that was nipped at the waist.
When her family members removed their blindfolds, they were stunned by her transformation.
‘Oh my gosh, you look gorgeous,’ her mother gushed.

The hairstylist explained that Susan was coloring her hair red and giving herself highlights that were so light they were coming out white.
He opted to dye her hair a soft brown and add some highlights around her face to make her eyes pop.
Jill, meanwhile, dressed Susan in a short-sleeve, A-line dress, which cinched at the waist with a thick black belt.
The stylist topped off the look with black tights and a pair of patent leather pumps.
