Some nurses at the San Francisco General Hospital are petitioning to have Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s name removed from their trauma center.
The request comes amid the social media network’s infamous data privacy scandal, particularly over reports that right-wing consulting firm Cambridge Analytica retrieved sensitive information from 87million Facebook users.
The health officials expressed concern over patient privacy.
‘The patients are afraid… I know people that go to the doctor, and they are afraid to tell their doctor what’s really going on because they don’t know who is going to get that information,’ registered nurse Sasha Cuttler said in a statement to ABC 7.

The hospital workers even went so far as to tape over Zuckerberg’s name in the front of the center.
Nursing assistant Mike Dingle said employees also hope to have their traditional name back which the center has been known by for well over a century.
‘That’s all the more reason to get it off of here so that we get our identity back,’ Dingle said.
Spokesperson for the hospital said partly: ‘Without exception, our most important commitment is to our patients.’

And ‘to ensuring their well-being and protecting their privacy… In no way has the hospital compromised that commitment.’
Zuckerberg and his spouse Priscilla donated a whopping $75million to the San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center back in 2015.
As a result, the hospital was dedicated in Zuckerberg’s name.
‘We believe that investing in health is one of the most important things that we can do personally,’ Zuckerberg told a crowd outside the hospital at the time.
ABC reports that the contribution was the largest individual donation to a public hospital.
