Wannabe Youtube star attacks disabled man

Shocking video has emerged of a Florida man attacking a mentally disabled individual dressed as a children’s cartoon character.

Jamie Roehm, who is mentally disabled and partially blind, was dressed up as the yellow character from the Despicable Me movies outside Jungle George’s on Daytona Beach’s boardwalk Sunday.

He says he was approached by a man, later identified as 25-year-old Ryan Nihart, who began hassling him.

Witnesses later told the Daytona-Beach News Journal that Nihart is a social media prankster who concocted the attack as part of a gimmick in hopes of getting attention.

The police report states that at one point, Nihart picked up Roehm and spun him round before eventually dropping him.

Cops say that the attacker kicked the minion when he tried to get back up.

Nihart was cheered on by a crowd of supporters during the attack.

Court documents show that Nihart told police that he goes by the social media name of ‘Bouje Ratche,’ and identified himself as an Instagram star that had surrounded him.

Following the alleged attack, Roehm’s boss, George St. Pierre – who owns the nearby Jungle George gift shop – along with another bystander helped detain Nihart until police arrived.

‘I was just kidding, bro,’ Nihart could be heard saying on the video. ‘We were just doing a prank.’

Nihart’s Instagram page shows that he has 1,875 as of Thursday evening.

‘He kept telling me, ‘I’m going to make you famous,” Pierre told The News-Journal. ‘I guess he wanted to be on YouTube.’

The incident took place at approximately 7.30pm Wednesday evening when Nihart approached Roehm. Nihart was accompanied by a woman and two males, one of whom had a camera in his hand.

‘He asked me if I wanted to wrestle and I shook my head no,’ Roehm could be heard telling the police on a separate surveillance, according to the News Journal.

Seconds later, police say Nihart picked up Roehm and spun him around four times. After putting him down, Nihart then allegedly kicked Roehm in the groin area.

That prompted Roehm’s boss and co-worker to confront Nihart and tackle him to the ground.

After being charged with battery and criminal mischief, Nihart was released on his own recognizance from the Volusia County Branch Jail on Monday.

The Palm Beach Post reports Roehm declined medical treatment, saying he was mostly bruised. The store owner told police the $300 minion suit was destroyed.
