Quentin Tarantino has announced his next big project – the 56-year-old director is expecting his first child with his wife Daniella Pick.

The newlyweds said in a statement to People on Wednesday: ‘Daniella and Quentin Tarantino are very delighted to announce that they are expecting a baby.’

The baby news came nine months after the two-time Oscar-winning screenwriter tied the knot with the Israeli 35-year-old, whose father is singer-composer Svika Pick.

Quentin first met Daniella while promoting Inglourious Basterds at the 2009 Jerusalem Film Festival, and they split before rekindling their on/off May-December romance in 2015.

The Knoxville-born filmmaker’s critically-acclaimed revisionist fairytale Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is his biggest hit to date – amassing $181.5M at the box office since July.

According to THR, the New Beverly Cinema owner announced in 2016 that he plans on retiring after directing two more films for a total of 10.
