The Sugababes look set for an epic return of the band’s original line-up – after the trio came together for a studio session exactly 18 years after splitting.
Mutya Buena teased fans into a frenzy after sharing a photo with Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy with the caption: “Me and my beauties today. Studio Vibes.”
Fans immediately flooded the post, with one calling the girls “The Sacred Trio”.
Others wrote: “About time!” and celebrated seeing the “Original Tings” back in one place.
The trio first formed Sugababes in 1998, and went on to storm the charts with 18 top ten singles and five top ten albums.
Fans of the group were left heartbroken when Siobhán, who was aged just 17 and suffering from depression, left the group in 2001.
She was replaced by former Atomic Kitten member Heidi Range.
At the time, Mutya and Keisha were just 16 years old.
Mutya was the next Sugababe to leave the group in 2005, following the birth of her daughter Tahlia.
She was replaced by Amelle Berrabah, with Keisha staying on as the last original Sugababe.
However, she also quit in 2009 after falling out with Heidi and Amelle, and was replaced by Jade Ewen.
In 2011, the original line up reunited under the band name ‘Mutya Keisha Siobhán’, known as MKS, and released their first single Flatline in 2013.
In 2018, Keisha hinted that the trio had regained the rights to the ‘Sugababes’ name after claiming she was not an ‘ex-Sugababe’.
